Seitan Limania Beach, Crete

Lovers of the sea will be amazed by this photo! It shows one of the fascinating parts of Greece that hides an absolutely heavenly beach called Seitan Limania.

The beach is situated in the northeast side of the Akrotiri peninsula, about 20 kilometers (15.5 miles) from the city of Chania.

Although this place really looks quite celestial, its name tells a different story. The word “Seitan” comes from the Turkish language and it means Satan, the devil, and the word “Limania” is Greek for ports.

Put them all together and you have the welcoming title of the ‘Port of Satan.’

Matterhorn, Zermatt, Switzerland

Matterhorn, known as the jewel of the Swiss Alps, is one of Switzerland’s best-known landmarks.

With its 4478-meter-high peak (14,690 feet tall), Matterhorn is considered to be one of the most challenging places in the world for many climbers, if not one of the deadliest.

The Matterhorn was first successfully summited in1865 by Edward Whymper. This magnificent mountain is located at the border of the western Swiss canton of Valais, between Zermatt town and the Italian resort of Breuil-Cervinia.

Its beauty is absolutely enchanting but at the same terrifying, which makes it a real magnet for everyone who loves extreme and adrenaline-pumping activities.

Kawasan Falls, Cebu, Philippines

Located in the jungles of the Cebu island in the Philippines there is one of the most captivating water features in the world: Kawasan Falls.

This nature’s jewel is a three-stage cascade mountain waterfall with the clearest water you will ever see, not to mention the cleanest inland water in the country.

The Kawasan Falls is considered to be the pearl of its country, due to the enormous beauty of this hidden lagoon and the tropical plants that surround it.

Needless to say, this piece of land is a touristic jungle paradise. Visitors to the waterfall can hop onto a bamboo raft and go straight under the springs to enjoy this natural oasis up close.

Nusa Penida Island, Indonesia

If you like exotic travel, then Nusa Penida is a perfect island place for you. This enchanting land with bluest beaches is the biggest of the three Nusa Islands and is located on the edge of the Bali mainland.

With  Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan, Nusa Penida helps make up a perfect trio of island escapes that will take your breath away with their amazing landscapes and equally beautiful beaches.

However, Nusa Penida has to more to offer its visitors than just perfect beaches.

A young lady from ancient times, perhaps still a teenager, grows upset over the thought that she will never be married because she is physically unappealing.

In a fit of wallowing sadness, she throws herself off a ledge into a natural pool. She survives. The pool magically transforms her into a beautiful woman just as a lord comes strolling past.

Their eyes meet, he becomes smitten with her beauty, and true love is found.

Or so goes the Turkish legend surrounding the 17 hot springs of Pamukkale, Turkey. The lava-heated waters of Pamukkale are saturated with calcium, which erupts from the ground below and forms frozen falls down a cliffside.

Each one of the springs ranges in temperature from 35 °C (95 °F) up to 100 °C (212 °F), and each is said to cure or aid dozens of maladies, including: kidney stones, high blood pressure, circulation and digestive issues, food allergies, asthma, rheumatism and stupidity (okay, maybe not the last one).

Ubud, Bali, Indonesia

It has sun. Sand. Culture. A bit of a alt-lifestyle vibe. It’s all things to all people, so you won’t know what it might be for you until you go there.

What might be a potential downside to Ubud is that it’s one of the most crowdest and popular travel destinations in the country.

With yoga as the main activity, hippie vibe, and refreshing landscape, it still nurtures the Indonesian culture with green rice terraces, Hindu architecture, and holistic art.

One of the things that you should not miss to visit is the Monkey Forest, which is a green sanctuary in the southwest corner of Ubud.

If you are looking for something a little different on the culinary front, vegetarian restaurants abound and there are cafes everywhere for those just looking to sit and observe the scenery.
